The Cornhill Magazine
The Cornhill Magazine was founded by George Smith in 1860. The first editor was William Makepeace Thackeray and the journal specialized in the serialization of novels. This included the work of Anthony Trollope, Elizabeth Gaskell, George Eliot and Thomas Hardy. The Cornhill Magazine also published the poetry of Alfred Tennyson and Robert Browning. The Cornhill Magazine ceased publication in 1975.
