Harry Wilkinson played for Newton Heath Alliance before joining Manchester United in 1903. He only played eight games for the club before joining Hull City on loan. When Hull refused to buy him for £150 he went on loan to West Ham United. His teammates gave his the name "snowball" because of his white hair. Wilkinson he made his debut against Luton Town on 16th September, 1905. He did not have a very productive season scoring only two goals in 15 games. He returned to Manchester United but after failing to get a first-team place he moved on to Bury.
