Beverly Robertson
Beverly Robertson was born in Virginia in 1826. He served on the frontier before joining the Confederate Army in August, 1861. Commissioned as colonel of the 4th Virginia Cavalry, he fought at 2nd Bull Run (August, 1862) and Antietam (September, 1862), before serving under General Jeb Stuart at Gettysburg (July, 1863).
Removed from his command in 1864 but returned to join General Joseph Johnston and was with him when he surrendered in March, 1865. After the war Robertson worked in Washington.
Beverly Robertson died in 1910.
