Domine Dellius

Domine Dellius

Domine Dellius was born in Holland. He emigrated to America in August, 1683, and settled in Albany where he worked with the Iroquois. He moved to Boston in 1690 but returned the following year. He was then sent by the governor of Albany to Canada. In 1696 he obtained land from a group of Mohawks. Accused of fraud, Dellius lost his right to the land. Dellius was also accused of drunkenness and was forced to return to Holland.
