Pal Sujan was born in Budapest on 5th May 1880. He studied art and eventually became a teacher in Pozsony. He became a popular artist and his portraits and figure paintings were widely shown. During the First World War Sujan produced several notable posters including the one for the National War Relief Exhibition in July, 1917.
